After a long cold winter there is nothing better than enjoying some fun in the sun. If you don’t have plans in June and happen to be a golf aficionado, I suggest a trip to the U.S. Open. This year’s event will be held for the sixth time at the most prestigious public course in the county, Pebble Beach Golf Links. Practice rounds will take place from June 10th -12th and the Championship Rounds will be held on June 13th – 16th.

Here are some interesting storylines to watch at this year’s event. Defending back to back U.S. Open champ Brooks Koepka has an opportunity to three-peat this year. The last person to win three in a row was Willie Anderson in 1903 – 1905. Can Tiger add a sixteenth major to his career following that amazing performance at the Masters? A win at the Open only puts him two behind Jack Nicklaus with 18 career Masters victories. Will Phil Mickelson win his first elusive U.S. Open? He’s won every other Major and a victory on Sunday would be a heck of a way to celebrate his 49th birthday.
