There’s no hard and fast rule for how much to tip based on time, distance, or passengers, but a general rule of thumb that I fly by is if it’s about two hours or less, I shoot for about $50 per pilot. And if it’s two hours or more, I shoot for about $100 per pilot. It’s never expected, always appreciated. And I found that following that rule of thumb never gets me into trouble.
