If you have not ventured into the commitment of ADS-B the time is now since the FAA is relaunching its $500 ADS-B rebate program, making $4,900,000 available to help fund ADS-B Out installations. The rebate is available through Oct. 11, 2019, or until funds are exhausted.
U.S.-registered, fixed-wing, single-engine piston aircraft not already equipped with compliant ADS-B equipment are eligible for the rebate.
Much of the business aviation community has planned ahead for ADS-B compliance; however, any aircraft owner or operator who does not have a reservation for installation scheduled prior to Dec. 31, 2019, should contact their repair station immediately. Shop time, equipment and parts will become more difficult to secure as the Jan. 1, 2020, deadline approaches. There will be no extension to the FAA’s deadline. Aircraft owners and operators must make arrangements now.
Silverhawk Aviation is currently scheduled well into 2019 with larger ADS-B projects but we are still able to find gaps to complete lesser extensive installs. This may not be the case 6 months from now so we strongly encourage those who have put their install on the calendar to do so soon.
