As we continue to grow and add support personnel to our maintenance team, we discovered it was time to finally bring on a Service Manager, a position Gene Luce has held for the last 23 Years. The work load had exceeded the capacity for one person to complete while doing other duties. We want our customers to continue to have that personal service they have grown accustomed to, and this was beginning to get harder and harder with our work load increasing.
Fortunately, Jay Carlson found us through an ad we had posted on our website. Jay started his aviation career in 1983 by moving from Lincoln to Tulsa, Oklahoma to attend Spartan School of Aeronautics and received his A&P certificate in 1985 while working for a small FBO in Tulsa. Jay then left the small FBO world and joined the airlines, working for American Airlines for 20 years in the JT8 engine accessory shop at their maintenance base in Tulsa. After retiring from American Airlines, Jay received the opportunity to work for Spirit AeroSystems working on the Gulfstream G650 wing project. During his eight years at Spirit, he was promoted to Team Lead, Process Operations Specialist, Quality Systems Specialist, and then Quality Engineering for the G650 wing program.
We are very fortunate to have Jay on our staff. He brings a calm, seasoned, and knowledgeable presence with him. We look forward to having him on board for a long time. Stop by when you have a moment to meet Jay and say hello!
